You may see examples in the media and social media of people who have had excess or poorly placed filler giving too much projection or volume eg in the lips to produce a “trout pout” or “juju lips” appearance.

 

Dr Colin believes in a “less is more” approach, and nowhere is this more true with filler, particularly lip filler. He will adopt a conservative approach ensuring appropriate, subtle, and natural-looking results. The idea is for you to notice and be happy with the results but not for others to know you’ve had a treatment. The filler will last for varying amounts of time depending on the region treated and the chosen choice of product. Lips that are highly mobile and need a soft mobile product may last 6 months whilst the temples, being an area of little movement and using a larger gruntier choice of filler may last up to 2 years. As a general role, mid-face treatments would last 12 to 15 months. Sometimes a “top-up” of a smaller amount of product may be suggested at around 6 months for optimum and longer-lasting results.
